1. What are the system requirements for CashCtrl?
Since it is an online-only software (Software-as-a-Service), there are only requirements for the web browser used:
Chrome 106 or higher, Firefox 106 or higher, Edge 96 or higher, Safari 15 or higher.
Microsoft Internet Explorer (all versions) is not supported.
Mobile browsers (on iOS, Android, etc.) are currently not supported. CashCtrl is functional on mobile browsers, but without warranty.
2. Where is my data stored?
Exclusively in the Swiss cloud, on Swiss servers. Also, all data such as backups and uploaded files are not played abroad, but remain in data centers in Switzerland.
3. What happens to my accounting data?
To put it bluntly, nothing. They are simply stored and waiting to be maintained by you. We take data integrity very seriously, which is why we are independent, do not sell data and do not pass it on to third parties. Your data belongs to you.
4. How secure is CashCtrl? Could my data get lost or stolen?
We take the security of your data very seriously. The entire communication between your PC and the server is encrypted with 256-bit SSL.
Passwords are stored with strong encryption and are secure against Rainbow Tables. When a user tries to login for 5 times without success, he is blocked for 15 minutes, making Brute Force impossible.
Besides the normal login with username and password you can activate Two factor authentication (2FA) to secure your account even more.
Furthermore every organization has it's own database and thus no access to other organization's data.
Security holes like e.g. SQL Injection or XSS have no chance in CashCtrl.
5. in which countries and languages is CashCtrl available?
CashCtrl is a cloud software and available worldwide in English and German. Documents and reports: English, French, German, Italian.
6. How many customers are using CashCtrl?
As of mid-2022, approximately 3500 people are actively using CashCtrl.
7. Can data be imported from other accounting software?
Item master, address data and contacts can be imported directly, booking data cannot. Close the year in the old software and start with the opening entries in CashCtrl. -> Software change tutorial
8. Is a constant internet connection necessary?
Yes, a constant internet connection is required while using CashCtrl. If the internet connection is interrupted, CashCtrl will inform you.
9. Can closed years and months be reopened?
Yes, in CashCtrl everything is up to you. You decide when what is closed or reopened.
10. Why don't I receive a confirmation email?
The confirmation email should arrive within one minute at the latest. If this is not the case, first check if you have entered the email address correctly. Also check your spam folder. If the e-mail did not end up there, please contact us via the contact form.
11. How is CashCtrl further developed?
We are constantly working on CashCtrl to optimize the software and add new features. The development is all done in-house at our company. You can follow what is planned next on the roadmap.
12. Do I have to pay for updates?
No, updates for FREE and PRO are always included in the price and are available for everyone after release.
13. How is CashCtrl FREE financed and will it remain free?
CashCtrl FREE is financed by the sale of CashCtrl PRO and Enterprise. We as a company also benefit from free products and offers all the time, so it's only fair to give something back. FREE is an integral part of our company culture and will remain available for free in the future.
14. Can I test PRO Demo for longer than 30 days? And do I have to start all over again afterwards?
Just let us know if you need more than 30 days, no problem. If you buy PRO afterwards, all data will remain exactly as you have set it up. Of course you can also reset everything.
15. Can I merge multiple FREE accounts into one PRO account?
Yes you can but we have to do the process (free of charge). To do this, write us a support request from both accounts, the process takes only a short moment.
16. How can I upgrade to CashCtrl PRO?
Directly in the program via the welcome window "Upgrade to PRO". Alternatively via "Settings/Upgrade to PRO". If you don't have an account yet, register, log in and upgrade to PRO.
17. Will the PRO subscription be automatically renewed?
No. CashCtrl PRO is prepaid; you pay for one year in advance. The subscription does not automatically renew. One month before the subscription expires, you will receive the invoice by email.
There is no cancellation period.
18. What happens if I pay the invoice for PRO too late? Will my account be deleted?
No, your account will not be deleted. If you don't pay, your account will simply be deactivated, but everything will remain stored exactly as you set it up. You can still sign up and continue your subscription or downgrade back to FREE at any time.
19. Will data be lost if I downgrade from PRO back to FREE?
No, the data will remain the same. All data that was only available through PRO (such as additional fields and various reports) will remain, but will no longer be editable/visible.
20. The balance in the cash register does not add for each entry, what is wrong?
Nothing! CashCtrl works with daily balances and shows the balance from the end of each day in the journal. This practice has proven to be the best and clearest for us. You can find more information here.
